Griffins hype robbed McGee of Slam Dunk title!?

Alright, so the Sprite Slam Dunk competition took place this past weekend in the NBA, starring contestants Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, JaVale McGee of the Washington Wizards, Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Demar Derozan of the Toronto Raptors. Rookie sensation Blake Griffin has flooded the NBA by storm with some of the most acrobatic dunks the league has seen in years. The high-flying, 6 foot 10 inch giant was the clear fan favorite going into this competition, with the anticipation behind this event being the strongest it has been in years.

Unfortunately, i was unable to watch the Slam Dunk competition while it was live, SMaycH at me, but i was able to receive highlights and updates about it from some friends who i was texting. I was on my way out for the night when i received a text that Blake Griffin had intentions of dunking a ball over a car. A car? Like really?What the is a car doing on a NBA hardwood floor during a slam dunk competition? Hands down, i didn’t even need to see the damn dunk, I had already crowned Griffin as the champion. I swear, I was updating my facebook status as if everybody at that point in time needed to hear this about Griffin.

But seriously, i got home that night and received a bunch of hate on how this dude McGee from the Wizards got snagged of winning the competition….Excuse me, but i didn’t hear nothing about McGee jumping over a car that night. What’d he do? Jump over a Mr.Softee truck? Cause that would have been impressive. Have the Mr.Softee throw you the ball while handing you a deliciously tasty twisty cone to the other hand. It’ll be all in one motion, jump OVER the 10 foot tall Mr.Softee truck, GRAB the twisty cone with one hand and simultaneously GRAB the ball with the other hand and then BOOM! SLAMMA JAMMA time on the rim while gettin his lickity lick on.

Being that this dunk seems highly likely to re-produce, i really don’t see why McGee didn’t think of something like that. I love icecream, especially Mr.Softee. He’s a world phenomenon. The fans woulda had no choice in voting for McGee. SMaycH.

Watch for yourself, as his first couple of dunks brought creativity and style to the table as his dunks in the finals, in my opinion lacked the presentation and delivery that Blake brought by jumping over a car…
